Explore Our Conventional Flue Gas Fires
Superior Fires has an extensive choice of traditional flued inset gas fires available in contemporay, modern and traditional designs. Please take your time to browse through our range as we have several colours and finishes including; brass, chrome, stainless steel, polished cast iron and black to complement your fireplace or room fittings.
Our popular Chewton Slimline Radiant Gas Fires can fit practically 99% of modern flue systems thanks to their shallow depth. Alternatively, if you know your fireplace opening depth is a little deeper than for the best flame effect on the market you may want to check out our stunning Whatley Full Depth Radiant Gas Fires, available in coal, pebble, log fuelbed and lots of attractive fret and frame designs.
Alternatively, we have a selection of Decorative Gas Fires (DGF). Our Sonora Range is perfect for older homes that may possibly feature a tapered Victorian fireplace and fire back (also called chair brick) where a solid fuel fire used to burn. DGF's require a Class 1 pre-fabricated flue system or conventional chimney with minimum 7" (178mm) or greater internal diameter.
Conventional flue gas fires are designed to benefit homes with a chimney or flue, unlike our Flueless Gas Fires which cater for homes without a chimney.
Features and Benefits of Conventional Flue Gas Fires
Our Chewton, Asaba, Whatley and Walther Conventional Flue Gas Fires benefit from being open fronted therefore feature a lovely flickering flame and underbed glow just like a real coal fire.
For excellent improved efficiency and heat output, our Grosvenor High Efficiency Range of gas fires have been designed with a discrete glass front which significantly reduces the warm room air from being drawn up the chimney. A clever heat exchanger also helps to warm the convected air. This next generation of high efficiency gas fires provides a class leading 4.1kW heat output with 90% efficiency.
For complete safety and peace of mind all our fires are fitted with an Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) and Flame Failure Device (FFD) which cuts off the gas supply to the fire and renders the appliance safe.
Installation & Advice
Superior Fires’ versatile range of traditional flue gas fires are designed to fit a standard fireplace opening, generally 16” wide by 22” high. We advise that you check the installation depth and minimum space for debris collection before purchase as this changes for each product in our range with our full depth ranges, Whatley and Walther, needing an increased depth in comparison to the Chewton, Grosvenor and Asada flue gas fires in our slimline range.
These fires use natural gas only. Consequently, all the fires have to be installed by a Gas Safe engineer. In addition, Superior Fires recommends that a Home Survey is completed to ensure you choose the right gas fire for your chimney or flue. Our Installation Service can provide an approved engineer to carry out a Home Survey, give you a competitive quotation and carry out fitting so that you get the best of your new fire and it is installed within the terms of our guarantee.
Superior Fires is here to help you purchase the best conventional flue gas fire to suit your needs. Have a look at the Help & Advice part of our website where we have put together several Fire Product Guides and videos to aid you.
