They are available in a number of different sizes, heat outputs, colours and materials. Flueless gas fires are the perfect answer for homes without a chimney or flue. They simply fix to the wall with 4 screws and only require a 8mm gas supply to the point of installation. This makes installation and running costs a lot cheaper than a conventional flued gas fire. In addition to our large array of wall hung fires we are also proud to be an authorised SMEG retailer and we now offer a range of SMEG Flueless Gas Fires, all with exclusive 5 year warranty, for your complete peace of mind.

Modern Wall Mounted Electric Fires

If your home has an electric supply you too can benefit from a modern Wall Mounted Electric Fires. Our contemporary designs are packed with technology and features (depending on the model) like; flame effect only setting, thermostatic control, variable heat settings, remote control and more. We also stock the popular SMEG branded range of electric fires available in bright red, gloss black, silver and pastel cream and come with a 3 Year Warranty.

Modern Inset Fires - No Chimney Required

There's nothing better than a beautiful matching fire and fireplace to create a stunning focal point in your room. At Superior Fires we believe you should be able to create your perfect fireplace whatever your room layout. There's no need to worry that you haven't got a flue or chimney breast as with our modern inset flueless gas fires and electric fires - you simply don't need one. Furthermore with the right fireplace package our fires can be installed flat against any internal wall.

Modern Inset Flueless Gas Fires

Superior Fires Modern Flueless Inset Gas Fires features all the benefits of the flueless technology; 100% efficiency, reduced running costs, simple installation, realistic coal fuelbed (excludes Westbury Positano model) and a clean burning ribbon burner. The Westbury range of gas flueless inset fires do not require a chimney or flue therefore all the heat generated is distributed into the room and none is lost up the chimney. This clever technology not only saves money on installation but significantly reduces the running cost.

There are a number of installation options. To help a 43mm spacer frame is fitted as standard however, this can be removed if fitting into an existing fireplace opening. For a flush fit without spacer a minimum fireplace opening depth of 135mm (plus 20mm to allow for fixings) is required. Please note the chimney or flue must be blocked off in this type of installation.

If you don't have a fireplace opening or chimney breast and you want to install against a flat wall then there are two options; 1. For fireplace surrounds with a minimum 75mm (3") rebate, you will need to purchase a 75mm spacer frame. 2. For fireplace surrounds with a minimum 25mm (1") rebate, you will need to purchase a 155mm spacer. In both situations the 43mm spacer is discarded.

Modern Inset Electric Fires

Combining a flickering flame effect and under bed glow our Modern Inset Electric Fires provide a real alternative to a gas fire, but without the need of a chimney or flue.

All our electric fires feature a powerful fan heater discretely positioned under the front canopy and provide forward directional heat. The heat settings can be varied between: OFF, 1kW and 2kW. A very popular feature of our electric fires is that they are able to be set to flame effect only (without heat) so on a cool summer's evening you can still enjoy the look and feel of a fire but without heat.

We have three electric fire engines to choose from: our Clara range of electric fires include an LED flame effect with opaque flame screen which provides a warm flame effect with deep red tones. The Londra range is identical to the Clara however, features an uprated screen made from a premium piece of reflective glass. The mirror glass increases the perceived depth of the fire by reflecting the coal fuelbed thus, giving a much more realistic flame picture. The Santini range of fires incorporates our premium LCD technology. LCD electric fires feature a range of real-life film sequences that set a new standard in electric fire design. 9 video scenes are included; coal fire, log fire, twig fire (with realistic sound of crackling fire), modern flueless flames, abstract, river scene and fish tank!

Modern Inset Fires - Chimney Required

We have a large range of modern gas fires and contemporary electric fires which are perfect for homes with a conventional chimney or flue system. Chimneys and flues can vary enormously so it is always wise to check the fireplace opening width, height and depth. Our modern inset gas fires are installed within the fireplace opening, however our electric fires provide the option to also simply fix flat against a wall if the spacer frames are not removed.

Modern Gas Fires

If you are looking for a modern or contemporary gas fire to accompany your fireplace then we have a range of Modern Inset Gas Fires designed especially for you. When choosing a modern gas fire it is important to check the compatibility with your flue or chimney.

Pre-Cast: Our pre-cast open fronted gas fires are purposely designed for pre-cast flues which are generally more shallow in depth. For this reason we have two slimline models; the Chewton Slimline Radiant platform has a depth of 110mm, whereas the Asaba Slimline Convector is 125mm, due to the convector style firebox. The Chewton and Asaba Slimline gas fires are our most popular models for pre-cast flues however depending on your fireplace rebate and pre-cast flue construction you may be able to fit the Grosvenor (depth 145mm) or Whatley (180mm depth). Both of which are also suitable for pre-cast flues. Don't forget to add 20mm for the debris collection space.

Class 2: We have a range of inset fires that are designed to be compatible with a pre-fabricated flue system measuring minimum 127mm (5") internal diameter. Generally, a pre-fabricated flue will use a flue box which is much deeper than a pre-cast flue starter block. Therefore in this type of installation when depth is not a major factor our Full Depth Whatley Radiant and Full Depth Convector gas fires are very popular due to the increased fuelbed depth and flame effect.

Class 1: If you have a Class 1 chimney with 178mm (7") internal flue diameter or greater, then in theory you can choose any inset open fronted or glass fronted gas fire from our slimline or full depth range. Our Modern Class 1 Inset Gas Fires offer unprecedented realism with fantastic heat output. There is something to choose for everyone. We have over 50 different options to choose from.

Freestanding Stoves

The celebrity endorsement by television presenters such as chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and property developer Sarah Beeny have helped launch the meteoric rise of wood-effect burning stoves and turned them into the 'must have' in home-decorative of the noughties and now teens. Traditionally seen as a heating appliance in rural areas, wood burning stoves are becoming increasingly fashionable in cities and towns.

Superior Fires has a range of 100% efficient Freestanding Stoves that are flexible and much cheaper to install and run than a conventional wood burner.

Flueless Gas Stoves

Superior Fires range of  Flueless Gas Stoves look and feel like a real wood burner but don't have any of the drawbacks of a solid fuel stove. Flueless gas stoves are capable of producing powerful, efficient and amazingly versatile heat which can be regulated and turned off easily, unlike solid fuel. They also fit much better with our modern lifestyles as you don't require any storage space for logs or cleaning out the ashes after use - as there is none.

Flueless gas stoves offer the following benefits: 100% efficiency, reduced running costs, simplified installation and servicing. Incorporating the latest in gas fire technology flueless gas stoves do not need a chimney or flue to operate. Instead the combustion gases pass through a catalytic system positioned at the top of the appliance which converts carbon monoxide into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapour. Levels of which are so low they are typically present in fresh air. Our innovative technology provides a flexible design allowing you to install a fire not only in the living room but also dining room, office, or kitchen. Flueless gas fires and stoves are not suitable for bedrooms or bathrooms.

Electric Stoves

If you don't have a natural gas supply then our next generation of Electric Stoves are a perfect addition to your home and can create a realistic focal point that works equally in urban city living as it is in rural country abodes. The simplicity of electric at your fingertips and instant heat provides a system that is far superior to operate and cleaner to maintain. In addition to these benefits an electric stove will be significantly cheaper to install as you will simply only need to plug in to feel the heat.

Superior Fires offer two types of electric stoves:

The Augusta LED range of electric stoves are designed to significantly improve the flame picture and running performance. LED technology not only provides a deeper, richer flame picture with enhanced flame movement but is also a fraction of the cost to run when compared to a conventional incandescent bulb. It will last a lot longer too. The Augusta by its nature is freestanding allowing you to stand in almost any location or position. The mains power lead is approx. 1.6m long.

The Amberley and Hambleton range of stoves feature our premium LCD technology. At the heart of these fantastic stoves is an intelligent microprocessor that redefines the way we emulate a real burning fire and sets a new standard in digital electric fire design. The LCD range of electric stoves is able to display 9 different video scenes on the LCD screen with clarity and ultra-realism. The log effect and fire effect scenes actually feature crackling of the logs.

Flame Effect Only Electric Fires - Optional Heat

We understand one of the main decisions for purchasing an electric fire is for the flame effect, and that heat is required only now and them. For this reason Superior Fires has designed all our electric fires with a flame effect only setting. This means that the heat is independent to the flame effect.

Wall Mounted Electric Fires

All our Wall Mounted Electric Fires can be simply operated without heat allowing you to relax in front of the flame effect. Our wall hung fires feature controls on the underside of the fire and also come with a remote control to allow you to choose this feature in the comfort of your chair.

Inset Electric Fires

Our exciting range of Inset Electric Fires also include a flame effect only setting, and this can be turned on at the flick of a switch, which is discretely located under the canopy.

Freestanding Electric Stoves

Our Freestanding Electric Stoves also include a flame effect only setting. Our stoves can be turned on at the flick of a switch, discretely located behind the front control panel (Augusta range) under the top control panel (Amberley / Hambleton range).
