Our more efficient gas fires provide convected heat in addition to standard radiant heat. The Asaba Slimline Convector and Whatley Full Depth Convector inset fires are two such examples. Cooler room air is drawn into the bottom of the firebox and circulates around the back of the fire, warming it in the process, before being expelled out of the front convector outlet back into the room. This feature means Convector models are slightly deeper than their radiant counterpart, but more importantly are more efficient, and therefore cost less to run.
